About Ramsay
I’m a Specialist Podiatrist with a particular focus on clinical podiatric biomechanics. I qualified in podiatry in 1979 and have worked in both the NHS and private practice throughout my career, giving me over 45 years of experience in podiatry.
I hold an MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics and a Diploma in Biomechanics, and I’m a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. I have also undertaken additional training in areas including shockwave therapy, muscle activation, posturography and biomechanics.
I have worked in private practice since 1977 and now practise at Balanced Edinburgh, alongside my work with the Glasgow Sports Injury Centre. My approach focuses on understanding how the feet and lower limbs function and how biomechanics can contribute to pain, movement difficulties and injury.
I’ve also contributed to research and published work exploring the relationship between foot orthoses, biomechanics and walking.

What is your approach to treatment?
My approach is as holistic as possible and focusing mainly on treating the patient the condition has chosen rather than the condition the patient has.
