About Graham
I’m a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with experience across both NHS and private practice. I completed my MSc in Physiotherapy in 2021, having previously studied Applied Sport Science, and I’m also currently studying Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.
I began my career with NHS Lothian, completing rotations across different areas before moving into domiciliary physiotherapy. I’ve since developed over five years of experience in private MSK physiotherapy and have been part of the Balanced team since 2023.
My approach combines physiotherapy with my background in sport and strength and conditioning. I enjoy helping people manage pain, build strength and mobility, and return to the activities they enjoy, whether that’s everyday movement, exercise or sport.
I work with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including sports injuries, joint pain, back and neck problems and post-operative rehabilitation. My treatment is personalised to each person, with a focus on practical rehabilitation and helping you feel confident in your recovery.

Which conditions do you treat most often?
Conditions affecting participation in daily activities, in particular knee pain and shoulder pain. I am a keen runner and cyclist and so enjoying working with endurance athletes at all levels to manage their injuries.
What happens at a first appointment with you?
Comprehensive discussion about client expectations, ideas and concerns with attention to injury history and impact before exploring general health and training history/ goals. I then move on to a complete assessment of injured area and often include objective strength testing, force plate testing and, if relevant, running analysis. I then form a treatment plan with the client which can involve exercise, strength and conditioning and hands on treatments for pain relief. We finish the appointment planning a road map for recovery and disucssing next steps.
What is your approach to treatment?
I focus on individualised care that is centred around client empowerment and goals.
